Kwasi Tabury
Kwasi Tabury is an entrepreneur who is passionate about promoting development in Ghana and Africa.
I am 43 years old, born on November 17, 1978. I am Franco-Ghanaian born in Odumase, Sunyani in the Bono region of Ghana and a French by naturalisation. I’m happily married and a proud father of four children. I am the fourth child of my parents and the youngest of my male siblings.
My educational experience is that of an exception. My parents’ love for education gave my siblings and I the opportunity to go to school in some of the French West African countries: Côte D’Ivoire & Sénégal, France and the United Kingdom. The dream of my parents was for us to have the best education and return to Ghana to contribute immensely to the development of Ghana and Africa. Today, I can speak five (5) languages; three (3) local languages which includes my maternal & paternal tongue and two (2) official languages (English & French).
I am a very passionate sportsman. Amongst the numerous sports I practise, I love and enjoy playing football and running the most. I enjoy running for its health benefits but I played football professionally (Semi-Pro). As a child my dream was to be a professional football player. Yes, it did happen. I did join FC Nantes in France to pursue the dream of being a professional football player but my dream came to an end due to knee injuries. I had sustained a ligament tear in both knees. Interestingly, my football career ended but it gave me essential qualities that made me highly enjoyable in many fields of work.
My dream was not at its end yet, I took the opportunity to further my education and obtained SalesForce BTS and a Licence in International Trade in France. Amazingly , my passion for sports and the essential qualities acquired landed me in the World’s Best Sport Company, Decathlon. My journey in Decathlon has been twenty-two (22) years of experience in retail and leadership. I worked in Decathlon France & Netherlands for sixteen (16) years and Decathlon Ghana for six (6) years. My dream to return to Ghana was made possible by Decathlon. I wanted to change the lives of Ghanaians through sports & total wellness and this was made possible by passionate Ghanaian sportsmen and women in 2017.
Over the six (6) years in Ghana, I understood that Ghana needed more than just a sports company to change lives. My research, observations and network led to start MyHealthCop Limited and MyHealthCop Foundation as part of the legacy & footprint I want to leave with Ghana. I believe that to change lives includes good health & total well-being.
