Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is recognized globally as a humanitarian, spiritual leader and peacemaker. He has touched the lives of more than 450 million people around the world, resolving conflicts through dialogue and self-awareness, teaching positive approaches to living including techniques to alleviate stress and anxiety, and by his example of selfless service. Born in 1956 in Tamil Nadu, Southern India, Sri Sri was a gifted child. By the age of four, he could recite the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Sanskrit text. As a boy, he studied Vedic literature with a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. Combining the ancient teachings of India with Western learning, he graduated from college at seventeen, receiving his degree in Physics.
